Looking from within on a transcendent perspective and wanting to portray that- color gradients, patterns, iconography, gold, lace, and fabrics are included in my work. I make mixed media paintings and sculptures that explore faith, dreams, and Hispanic culture. Using canvas, paint, thread, and found objects I create layered mixed media pieces. Throughout making these pieces, I create a relationship with them such as making my own wooden panels and prepping my own surfaces.

Incorporating catholic imagery and Mexican trinkets or household items creates a sense of nostalgia from me growing up. Feelings of reminiscing, transcendent experiences, and grief are put into my works but often portray something beautiful. Re-creating and remembering dreams and nightmares are also something explored in my work by making portraits and scenes from memory.

Patterns found in family photos and fashion are also researched and given new meanings within my works. Coming from a family of seamstresses, charros, and immigrants the preservation of those familial traditions and histories are translated onto canvas or wood panels.
